Austasia Group of Businesses (Austasia.asia) organised a program to gather all leading Nepalese businessmen for an interactive dinner night in Sydney on 17^th Dec 2011. The program started with the Nepalese National Anthem and a Welcome speech by Hon. Consulate General Mr. Deepak Khadka followed by a motivational speech by Mr. Kiran Thapa.

Mr. Thapa gave a speech on the necessity of a business council focusing on the fact that businesses require a common platform for collective investment and the ways in which both emerging and established businesses could benefit from the Council.

The program was conducted in a workshop module to discuss the need of a common mother organisation for all the Nepalese businesses here in Australia. The importance of an Australian Nepalese Chamber of Commerce/Nepalese Business Association was raised in the program. Participants were divided into 4 groups and were given 20 minutes time to brainstorm the issues and come up with a common opinion within the group. One speaker was chosen from each of the group to share their group’s idea to other groups. Speakers from different Groups include Mr. Sugandha Wagley, Mr. Niraj Shrestha, Mr. Mahendra Lamsal and Mr. Bishnu Hamal.

Mr. Goba Katuwal summarised all the group’s views at the end emphasing the value of the Business Association and how everyone can work together to build up a task force in order to proceed further from here. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by NRN president Mr. Ganesh K.C and Mr. Yuba Raj Bhattarai. Other attractions included a Belly Dance by famous belly dancer Daniela and New Year dinner.

A common voice of all the participants on the evening was to organize another Grand interactive workshop among all Nepalese Businesses across Australia to decide Norms and policy leading to the formation of an umbrella organization for Nepalese Businesses in the country.
